1934

Jardine Engineering Company Limited (JEC Thailand) is established in Thailand as the trading company under the name “Henry Waugh Limited” The office was located on New Road, Si Phraya, Bangkok. The company imported several products and machinery for trading in Thailand.

1960

JEC Thailand expanded into an engineering and trading businesses under the name “Jardine Waugh Limited”. The Company’s office was located on Nares Road, Bangrak, Bangkok.

1969

JEC Thailand under the leadership of Mr. Ken Sarasin, enter into the construction industry and a few years later, became one of the leading M&E contractors in the Kingdom. In 1969, JEC Thailand undertook its first air-conditioning contract to replace Water Cooled Chillers at the Erawan Hotel.

1970

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed air-conditioning system at the Indra Regent Hotel in the hotel and shopping area.

1972

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the air-conditioning system for the project of Rajdamri Arcade, located on Rajprasong Road.

1974

JEC Thailand changed the company’s name from “Jardine Waugh Limited” to “Jardine Matheson (Thailand) Limited”.

1976

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the air-conditioning and electrical systems at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel, known as the world’s best hotel.

1980

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the mechanical and electrical systems for the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel.

1980 – 1982

JEC Thailand during 1980-1982 successfully supplied and installed the air-conditioning system for most of the country’s commercial banks’ headquarters, namely:

  • The Bank of Ayudhaya Head Office on Ploenchit Road
  • Siam City Bank Head Office on New Phetchaburi Road
  • Thai Military Bank Head Office on Phayathai Road
  • Bangkok Bank Head Office on Silom Road
  • Siam Commercial Bank Head Office on New Phetchaburi Road

1984

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the air-conditioning system and increased the cooling capacity of more than 5,000 TR, for the Central Plaza Lad Prao, the largest shopping complex in Thailand at that time.

1985

JEC Thailand was appointed to renovate all of the electrical and mechanical systems at the main auditorium of Chulalongkorn University.

1986

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the air-conditioning system for the Rajjaprabha Dam. In the same year JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the electrical and communication systems for Amarin Plaza.

1988

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the air-conditioning system for Don Muang International Airport – Terminal 1 with a total cooling capacity of more than 6,000 TR. JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed all mechanical systems, including air-conditioning, plumbing, drainage and fire protection at Headquarters of the Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT). In the same year JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed all electrical and mechanical systems at Siam Cement Headquarters II.

1989

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed electrical and mechanical systems for the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Science (AFRIMS), Department of the Royal Navy – Pacific Division was completed. JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the first cleanroom contract at Advanced Micro Devices (Thailand) Limited, located on Chaeng Wattana Road.

1990

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the air-conditioning system of Thai CRT, the first Cathode Ray Tube factory in Thailand.

1991

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed all of the electrical and mechanical systems for the Sukhothai Hotel on Sathorn Road.

Jardines forms a joint venture with Trane to manufacture, distribute and service Trane HVAC products in Thailand

1993

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the air-conditioning system for the Thai Military Bank’s new head office - Chatuchak, and the Sheraton Grande Laguna - Phuket.

1994

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the air-conditioning system for Central Plaza Bangna with a total cooling of more than 10,000 TR.

1995

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the air-conditioning system for Don Muang International Airport –Terminal 2.

1996

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the mechanical system for factory of Microchip Technology (Thailand) Limited - Phase 1.

1998

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the electrical and mechanical systems for All Seasons Place – M Thai Tower and Capital Tower.

2000

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed all the electrical and mechanical systems for Shinawatra Tower III. In the same year Jardine Engineering Thailand was appointed to renovate Phase 1 of The Mandarin Oriental Hotel – River Wing Refurbishment project.

2001

JEC Thailand was appointed to renovate the electrical and mechanical systems Phase 2 of The Mandarin Oriental Hotel – River Wing Refurbishment project. In the same year JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the electrical and mechanical systems for the third office tower of All Seasons Place – CRC Tower.

2002

JEC Thailand obtained ISO 9001:2000 Certification from Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI).

2003

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the environmental control and tunnel ventilation system for station S19, S20, and S21 of the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) underground structure.

2004

JEC Thailand successfully installed Building Automation System (BAS) to National Institute of Metrology (Thailand) was completed.

2005

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the air-conditioning and plumbing systems for Siam Paragon project with a total cooling of more than 11,000 TR, it was the biggest shopping mall in Asia at the time.

2006

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed with the world’s first Radiant Floor Cooling system.

2007

The company has operated of mechanical & electrical systems in Thailand under the name of "Jardine Engineering Company Limited". JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the fire alarm system at the Sports Stadium Commemorating His Majesty (The King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary, 5th December, 2007 (B.E.2550)). The Radiant Floor Cooling system at the Suvarnabhumi Airport won the Jardine Matheson Pride in Performance Award – Productivity Enhancement Category. In the same year JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the mechanical and electrical systems for King Power Complex and The Pullman Bangkok King Power Hotel were successfully handed.

2008

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the Building Automation System (BAS) - office installation system (Energy Office) for Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT). JEC Thailand obtained the ISO 9001: 2008 Certification from Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI).

2009

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the electrical and mechanical systems for Central Plaza Chaengwattana, the biggest shopping complex in the north-west of Bangkok. JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the electrical and mechanical systems for Chamchuri Square. JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the electrical and mechanical systems for Holiday Inn Pattaya Hotel. JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the air-conditioning and ventilation system and an energy efficient Co-Generation Plant for the Government Office Centre Complex (GOCC) commemorating His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary. JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed the Building Automation System (BAS) for Bangkok Bank (Head office).

2010

JEC Thailand successfully supplied and installed electrical and mechanical systems for Energy Complex (ENCO) Building A and the main Electric Chiller. Energy Complex was the first Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum facility in Thailand. JEC Thailand completed the Building Automation System (BAS) and guest room control unit (RCU) for Siam Kempinski Hotel.
